Kish Russell is a proven grant expert with millions awarded, managed, and monitored during her time as Grant Writer, Federal Programs Compliance Coordinator, and Education Grant Consultant. With more than 20 years of experience working in public education, she is a dynamic and motivational speaker with an impressive winning grant record and the author of the books “BINGO Your Way through the E-S-S-A”, “Compliance by Design-How to Manage Title I Compliance from Start to Finish”, “Title I Fiscal by Compliance by Design”, “Title II Compliance by Design”, “Title III Compliance by Design”, “Title IV Compliance by Design”, “State Compensatory Education Compliance by Design”, “Private Non-Profit Schools Compliance by Design”, and “Parent & Family Engagement Compliance by Design”. From 2011-2015, she worked in federal programs for San Antonio ISD and since 2015 has been working as a consultant to support district leaders with grant monitoring and compliance assistance to many school district leaders to be successful in their role with grant-funded programs. She is the creator of a series of ESSA Compliance Academies that align with each of her Compliance by Design books.

Since 2009, her grant writing trainings have helped hundreds of education professionals achieve their grant writing goals and win for the success of their school, district, and organization. She has presented grant writing trainings for the University of Texas at San Antonio and Concordia Lutheran University. In addition, she has over 20 years of experience in education as a Kindergarten, Pre-K, and Third-grade teacher; Adjunct Instructor for San Antonio College; Grant Writer; Federal Programs Compliance Coordinator; National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Reviewer; Manager and Vice President for an education consulting firm in Austin, TX; and Executive Program Evaluator. Her certifications include Elementary, Early Childhood, Principal, and Superintendent certifications.
