July 29, 2024: First 60 Days of ESSA Title I Compliance 10 am -11:30 am CST- Virtual

This session will cover the following topics:

  • How to utilize the Comprehensive Needs Assessment to align Title I budget expenses

  • Reviewing your Schoolwide Plan for required strategies/activities

  • Supporting principals to effectively schedule Annual Title I Meetings and required parent and family engagement requirements

  • How to create a quick reference guide or learning session for school staff to understand success criteria for managing and monitoring Title I programs

  • How to engage federal friends and stakeholders to effectively implement, manage, and monitor the Title I program

  • Ways to communicate Title I compliance requirements with a timeline/checklist

  • How to plan for and schedule Title I compliance throughout the school year

  • Establishing Title II success criteria

  • Training staff to process Title II expenditure requests and create an internal controls process to effectively manage and monitor Title II professional development and travel expenditures

  • How to facilitate and develop a Comprehensive Needs Assessment and Professional Development Plan

  • Title II funded job descriptions and work schedules

  • Establishing the Language Proficiency Assessment Committee

  • Facilitating the Home Language Survey and student identification process

  • Allowable uses of Title I funds for Parent & Family Engagement

  • Parent and Family Engagement Title I funded job positions: job descriptions, work schedules, and time and effort reporting

  • Setting up and managing Title I budget for compliance with PFE requirements

  • Creating a calendar of Title I PFE activities
